Had lit makeup with Ms Kon this afternoon. Doubtlessly another traumatic and agonising 2 periods i must say. Her classes are just so...Stressful. Sigh. Studying Gothic just becomes so vexing and even though its a really cool topic, its so difficult to enjoy it. Lit doesnt seem to be about free expression anymore, instead, its just like...Science! (.....) There's now a "right" and "wrong" and you get an intimidating stare for every word that is supposedly "not right". Geez how ironic.

O well, at least Ms Lam's and Mr Young's classes arent that bad. Contributing crap in Rossetti/PC class is fun, and sleeping+stoning in Silas Marner's period makes us all feel so 'at ease' (pardon the pun!). Haha.

But anyway, our fates are all sealed cos the Gothic prelim paper is "brilliant" according to Ms Kon. Bleah. I really dont get the rationale behind the 'prelim paper theory'. I mean, what's the point of setting a ruthless paper if you already know that we're all not going to get it?! Pure satisfaction? Sadistic torture? In the end, the scoldings and yellings will still prevail. Might as well just save your own breath and our time. Demoralising students seriously isnt the right nor best approach. Or at least, do it in a more subtle way! Sigh.

Do forgive my criticisms, i just love to lament especially at a time like this. But i have to confess that this is indeed an effective outlet to prevent myself from expiring since i do foresee myself subjected to mental/psychological decay in the near future.

O boy i've just finished checking my mail and i read this joke again that Janelle sent me sometime back. I'd forwarded it to several people (esp. Chongwen haha...) but its so hilarious i decided i should continue to "spread the Word around"! Haha...here goes...

Once upon a time in the Kingdom of Heaven, God went missing for six days. Eventually, Michael the Archangel found him on the seventh day, resting.

He inquired God, "Where have you been?"

God sighed a deep sigh of satisfaction and proudly pointed downwards through the clouds "Look Michael, look what i have made."said God.

Archangel Michael looked puzzled and said, "What is it?"

"It's a planet," replied God "and I've put life on it, I'm going to call it Earth and it's going to be a great place of balance."

"Balance?" inquired Michael, still confused.

God explained, pointing to different parts of Earth, "For example, North America will be a place of great opprtunity and wealth, while South America is going to be poor. The middles east over there will be a hot spot and Russia will be a cold spot. Over there I've placed a continent of white people and over there is a continent of black people." God continued pointing to different countries. "This one will be extremly hot and this one extremely cold, and this one covered in ice."

The Archangel, impressed by God's work, then pointed to a small land mass and said, "What's that one?"

"Ah," said God. "That's Singapore, the most glorious place on Earth. There are beautiful buildings and races rich in culture and history. The people from Singapore are goin to be modest, intelligent and humourous and they are going to be found travelling the world. They'll be extremly sociable, hard-working and high acheiving, and they will be known throughout the world as diplomats and carriers of peace."

Michael gasped in wonder and admiration but then proclaimed, "What about balance, God? You said there will be BALANCE!"

God replied wisely, "Wait until you see the jokers I'm putting next to them. I'm calling them 'Malaysians.'"

Q: What grounds were there for the fears of those who, in the years 1789-1799, believed that revolution would spread beyond the frontiers of France to the rest of continental Europe?

Im absolutely clueless here so can somebody enlighten me or i cant sleep in peace tonight!!! Grr...i cant understand what the rest of them explained on the forum...Bleah.

Unbreakable

PL fun fair was good. Everywhere was crowded and the weather was so darn hot and stuffy! But stepping back into PL brought back many memories though. Saw many familiar faces (some of whom look really different) - juniors, seniors, peers from our batch, ex-classmates, teachers, and the list goes on. Of course, i was really elated to see Lihui, and not to forget, my dearest partner - the same ol' Jieying! Michelle said she could really see my excitement from my continuous jumping and hugging when i saw my partner! Hahaha yeah michelle really knows me well, i was absolutely overwhelmed when i saw Jieying after all these years...i almost burst out in tears when i saw her but yeah i had to keep it down or it would have been so embarrassing. O well what can i say, she's one of my best buddies and the only one who can possibly tame/bully me. Haha. Yeah missed those days...Sigh but it was so unfortunate that we forgot to take a photo. :( But anyway, thank god we managed to get rid of all $50-60 of coupons. It was hell thinking of how to spend all that money. Haha...I love and miss PL. Miss the place, miss the people, miss the English atmosphere, miss the culture, miss the unity, miss chapel, miss the teachers, miss 4D'01, miss the memories...Miss everything in PL thats missing in TP. That's right.

Who's Life Is It Anyway?

Sigh what's going on with me lately? Cant seem to concentrate and focus well on all that work and studying. School's such a chore and it doesnt help any bit with all the naggings from Boon Kong everyday. Bleah...history history history...my life's all about history. Wait a minute, what life? This doesnt seem like a life to me. Obligation more likely.

This is bad, its barely a term left till prelims and i've only covered FR so far. Started abit on IR yesterday night but couldnt progress much. I guess its REALLY time to get my act together now. Let's see: finish IR & imperialism this week, start on SEA come this Sat in preparation for prelims and Fac test next Fri, continue with RR for the 2 weeks after that and end off with WW1+political development of Singapore in the last week. Good, i shall switch to mugging mode tonight. But there's still Econs and Lit! Sheesh. Maybe i could cover Macro for these 2 1/2 weeks and Micro for the later 1 1/2 weeks. As for Lit, i gotta start Rosetti tomorrow cos quotations test is this Thurs (When I am dead my dearest, Sing no sad songs for me...blah blah...)! I shall proceed with Silas Marner and mm...A&C. Gothic comes last.

Hmm, i think that's about it. Im not too sure if i should "study" for GP...perhaps i'll read up on REAL current affairs (no, not Life!) constantly. O well hopefully all goes accordingly as planned. Cant afford to dwell in this dreamy mood any longer. Sigh, life o life....no life...no life...
