MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Wednesday, December 21, 2005

Shit. This is really bad news. How?! how?! how?! Im completely devastated.

* * *

hey guys,

ive received some bad news..its from lj hooker. someone has bought the hse and lj hooker had sent me a letter( a notice of termination of our residential tenancy) to vacate the hse by 24 jan..

its shocking, yes but nothing we can do to delay the date any further. i have the letter and it says that i have to return the keys to them by that day and stuff like cleaning the hse till its spotlessly clean which includes carpet cleaning and prepare for the final inspection to get the bond money back. did u guys remember breaking anything that is not ours? cos we have to replace them! and i have to disconnect the telephone and electricity connection as well..

i have to look for a new place soon enuf and hopefully get everything settled early as i have summer school to deal with...ill get a copy of the letter and send it via email to u guys when i have the chance..n im not sure if i shd ask u guys to come back by then to settle your belongings or wld u rather just have me pack them for you??

pls write back..its best if you guys discuss this among urselves first..sorry to bring u such horrific news

oh well...i wish u happy holidays still and merry xmas!

regards,
zul

Thank you dear Lord!

Now, will the anonymous sender of the mystery sms please reveal your identity? It's puzzling all of us!

And no, gift exchange will not take place on thurs cos most of us havent bought a gift yet. We'll do it when we have a party at my place next week!

My back is aching badly after yesterday's terrifying treatment and the butterflies in my stomach can hardly contain themselves.

Cant wait for this day to pass.

Please help me, God.

The Dandy Warhols - Holding Me Up

How do you politely turn down some friends' invitation to go clubbing? Especially when you're given the option to go on any of the 3 suggested weekends?

Just checked my results on Oasis. Was trying my luck since they were only supposed to be released at 5pm. Haha. As Erline usually says, im always trying to beat the system. Which i did once again.

Ok, can sleep in peace now.

O, and its actually raining outside.

Last words. Was watching Generation Next on Arts Central earlier tonight and i have to say that im impressed by Amanda Chong. Its rare to hear of a fellow idealist cum cynic cum romantic. I admire her talent, although i didnt really like how she pronounced Sylvia "Plath" with an American slang.

Evermore - It's Too Late

Well well. People do care about my existence after all eh? Haha.

Ok, the reason i've been lying low since getting back from Bintan last week was cos my bloody right foot was swollen after some insect(s) bit me at the kelong/beach/plantation/market, and i was feeling really lethargic and weak. Had difficulty walking so i was either sleeping or watching my down****ed shows the whole time. My foot's been better these few days after seeing the doctor, although the swelling hasnt completely subsided yet. Nevertheless, im back on the scene!

Sigh. Damn sian la. Sent out so many resumes but still not a single reply. Pffft. Everyday life seems so meaningless. No more TXY to watch (the Fann Wong show sucks - hate the dubbing) and the 9pm show is getting ridiculously out of hand. Eeyer. Cant wait for it to end.

Anyhow, i guess there's always the 15 dvds i bought in Bintan to keep me company for the next week or so. Man, that place is pure dvd heaven. 1 disc for SGD$2.50! Muahaha. Yes, prices of things there are so absurd it makes you feel like a millionaire.

O and for the second time im repeating this, im thinking of holding a Xmas/New Year party at my place. Hot plate/steam boat/pot luck/whatever. Will my fellow S6 pals tell me what you guys think? It doesnt necessarily have to be on Xmas or New Year's day itself, but maybe sometime between 25th dec - 1st jan? I reckon this will be a good time for all of us to have a reunion session. Pleaseee let me know (except for Jh & Jx since they were the very first ones to support me in this!!!) alright?

Bintan Trip

This is prolly the billionth time im uploading the pics and im so fed up that i cant be bothered to even insert any captions, as you can tell.

Death Cab For Cutie - Different Names For The Same Thing

I've lost quite a bit of zest. Caught in a limbo state right now. I guess the weather really does a good job complementing my mood.

Every little activity is but merely a frivolous disguise.

I need answers. At least let me know how far away i am from the end of the tunnel. And im not even considering the possibility of seeing a shred of light there in the first place.

Just tell me when it can all end.

Youth Group - Forever Young

let's dance in style
let's dance for a while
heaven can wait we're only watching the sky
hoping for the best but expecting the worst
are you gonna drop the bomb or not

let us die young or let us live forever
dont have the power but we never say never
sitting in the sandpit life is a short trip
the music's for the sad man

can you imagine when this race is run
turn our golden faces into the sun
praising our leaders, getting in tune
the music's played by the mad men

forever young, i want to be forever young
do you really want to live forever, forever, forever
forever young, i want to be forever young
do you really want to live forever, forever young

some are like water and some are like the heat
sooner or later they will all be gone
it's so hard to get on without a cause
i don't want to perish like a fading voice
youth's like diamonds in the sun
and diamonds are forever

so many adventures couldn't happen today
so many songs we forgot to play
so many dreams swinging out of the blue
let to come true

forever young, i want to be forever young
do you really want to live forever, forever, forever
forever young, i want to be forever young
do you really want to live forever...

Why I love GG

GILMORE GIRLS 6X05 - WE'VE GOT MAGIC TO DO

JACKSON: So did anybody see that new show on TV last night?

LORELAI: The one where they were solving crimes by cutting people's bodies open and poking their organs?

JACKSON: No.

SOOKIE [from the kitchen]: The one where they're solving crimes from thirty years ago by going to graveyards, and cutting open bodies and poking their organs?

JACKSON: No.

LORELAI: Oh. The one where people are missing and then they find their bodies and cut them open and poke their organs, and that's how they solve crimes?

JACKSON: No.

LORELAI: What else is on?

Supergrass - St. Petersburg

Im bored and lazy to update.

Anyway, shall we have a Xmas/New Year party? It's been a long time since ALL of us got together. We had steamboat a couple of years back, so how about hot plate this time round (bbq's too smoky)? We can hold it at my place if no one minds. (Sigh, miss having an apartment to myself...)

Think about it babes.

I wanna catch A Twist of Fate.

Anyone?

No one?

Guessed as much.

If only i had my own clone. An exact replica of me with the same interests. Then i wouldnt be such a lonely desperate and depressed soul anymore.

Sigh.

Faith In Plastics - Driving Via Streetlight

Was just watching The Great Outdoors, and it so happened that they were featuring Singapore (which they managed to cover in 5 minutes, not surprisingly). There was the shopping and of course, the food. The yong tau foo, the char siew rice and the pig organ soup.

My, they sure make delicious visual side dishes for my maggie mee.

Apples In Stereo - Pine Away

Ahh...what the hell am i doing. Im not even doing anything. Im supposed to be doing my 30-page reading right now in preparation for tomorrow's class but im losing concentration. Or rather, its pretty obvious i've lost it already since for the first time, this is my third post in the same day.

I think its the end-of-sem syndrome. I admit it. I miss home. I miss everyone in Singapore. This place is driving me nuts. I realised that staying here all this while has drained me emotionally. My slightly wider social circle of friends over here has in fact made me more detached than when i am back in Singapore with my bosom buddies. Well of course, we are bosom buddies thats why i feel emotionally bonded. But even then, i've had friends i'd known since i've stepped on this strange soil one year ago and somehow, the strings of those relationships have never been as taught. I feel like my fire's burning out.

Everyone questions why i seem to live like a hermit, choosing to be incarcerated inside my own four walls instead of hanging out, going shopping, clubbing and so on. Yes, i am dodging certain social activities, but the reason is simple - i just dont enjoy it. And if i dont opt for solitary confinement, i would prolly be in hospital now getting my stomach pumped from ingesting an overdose of anti-depressent pills. Perhaps im the introverted oddball, the geek even. Whatever it is, i dont see why i should compromise my preferred lifestyle habits to accomodate others' expectations of me. In a way, i wouldnt have woken up to self-realisation if i hadnt played the PR game then. Joining the conformist crowd was't that easy at all. Erecting and maintaining that facade was terribly taxing emotionally. Although, somehow you notice you're not the only one doing so. In fact, everything and everyone seemed equally superficial, like it was all about keeping up appearances. Every individual that i scrutinised and examined didn't seem to be themselves. Or rather, they tried too hard to be themselves.

Whatever the case, this frivolously artificial merrymaking isnt my cup of tea. And it certainly doesnt fill up my emotional glass. In fact, it actually precipitated the draining process. Im just praying that i can escape from this hole soon lest i lose myself. I need to recharge.

Straylight Run - Your Name Here

I cant believe they're not releasing Elizabethtown in Singapore! What the?! Thankfully it opens here before i go back. Looks like Australia isn't that slow after all.

Neva Dinova - Tripped

Nate's pissing me off. He's indisputably the stinkiest hole in all the asses i've seen. Can't believe i have to bear with that jackass for another year. Pardon my language but i'm not gonna tolerate that shit.

Morningwood - Nth Degree

Ok Jh, this post is dedicated to you. Sorry babe, i've been too lazy to update! The past couple of weeks have been hectic and there's more assignments coming up as well. Sigh, cant wait for the sem to end. 3 more weeks to go!!!

Hmm, i dont know why i've been having massive cravings nowadays. My tummy's like a bottomless pit (not a positive indication, trust me) and i keep snacking so much, especially at night. Brushing my teeth to prevent me from getting tempted is no longer an effective measure now. Damn. I can feel my face sinking rapidly in a whole chunk of fat. I need lipo.

Coincidentally, A Current Affair is featuring a story on cosmetic surgery in Bangkok now...Hmm...

* * *

Ooh and we got back our assessments for the ftv assignments today. We got 17/25 for our backgrounder story and 19/25 for our chook washer one! Weeeee! Surprisingly, Michelle actually loved the latter:

"Cute Story! A lot of fun. Great subject. You have included lots of interesting visuals. The sound on the interview is a bit low. You needed to get your mic in nice and close for such a noisy environment. Good choice of music. Good edit."

Looks like lugging that bloody equipment around the Show and doing nonstop last-minute editing were worth it afterall.
