My journals finally arrived today. I got a Credit! DAMN. Just 1 more mark and i could have added another D to my collection. All because i didnt review enough readings. Bah!
Anyway, im still waiting for the final grades to be released. Theres no sign of when that will be but i guess it'll only be next month. Im hoping to see if we really got 70% for our final production. What Amber told Erline simply sounded too surreal. 70% for that dodgy direction and cinematography? Gimme a break! Ok, but maybe it isnt that bad afterall compared to the rest. Still hate Meg's production though. Poseur. She had better not choose broadcast next sem as well or i swear i'll switch to the Independent stream. Ok probably not. But she'd better not end up in the same tute as me.
Anyway, i miss Perth. Heaps. I miss my independent lifestyle, i miss the weather, i miss the programs - Rove!!!, i miss Valleygirl, i miss Blockbuster, i miss Nando's!!! Sigh. I miss them all. I feel so stifled back here. The humidity's stuffing me up, im bizarrely feeling a little claustrophobic amidst all these skyscrapers, and family's just...intrusive. I feel like ive lost my new-found sense of liberty and thrown back into that same dark hole again.
Sure, Perth is no Sydney, Melbourne or even Brisbane, but Perth is no Singapore either. John Howard and his government dont argue about language reforms, the Aussies forgo superficiality to vote Casey as Idol instead of pretty-boy Anthony, and there isnt a big hooha about top PSLE "scholars" and their variety of secondary school options. Im honestly sick of turning on the tv and flipping through the Straits Times everyday to only see and read about the bilingualism issue and Sylvester. Why coerce Singaporeans to juggle two languages when they cant even master one? I say, let Singaporeans decide for themselves what they want to speak and master that language well. No point attempting to impress the world by showing off our bilingualism unless we wanna end up like Sylvester Sim ultimately - a big disgrace.
