That Familiar Scent
In a place where isolation lurks
The fortress of solitude stands strong
The empty wind blows cold
But hope is never foregone
Passers-by and strangers cross
Crowding the lonely land
The air polluted with depression
Which the heart still fails to mend
One day the dark skies retreat
The sun's rays sharply strike
One by one the bodies fall
Love, joy and smiles invite
That friendly, familiar scent circulates
Asphyxiating all despair and gloom
Resuscitating the land from evil influx
Delivers life and cheeriness in full bloom
O how the land prayed and wished
This scent would forever stay
It opened its arms and embraced
That familiar scent
Which it deeply cherished, always.
* Dedicated from an Ahou to her best friend, confidante and soulmate. Happy 18th Birthday.
