After 1 entire week here, my network connection is finally up! Rejoice!!! I wanted to update earlier but i didnt get my student id until i enrolled yesterday so i couldnt use the labs and library pcs. Grr. Thank god i can finally access it in the comfort of my own room now. Bliss.
 
Ok so update update. Was on msn the whole of last night with bibi, jan and lihui so didnt blog. But since im free now, thought i'd do a recap of the past week's happenings.
 
Let's see...
 
Tues: Upon arrival, took a cab to my parents' rented service apartment in South Perth. Had to do some repacking cos all the damn wheels of the luggage bag came out. Later went for dinner at an italian restaurant nearby cos it was the only eatery that was still open at 6.30. Tsk. Went back after dinner, caught Australian Idol and Rove Live (jm now i totally understand why you like Rove Live! It's a great show!!!)
 
Wed: Transferred to Kurrajong village (my campus accomodation) in the morning, checked into my flat, met some of my flatmates - Nina, a Norwegian girl and Travis, an American Craig David lookalike. Went across the road to Coles to do some grocery shopping and had lunch (local Spore fried noodles with curry yum yum). Headed back to my flat to settle down and unpack. Talked the night away with Nina and later got locked out of my room cos the damn door was auto-lock! Thankfully Nina called her friend, the RA, at 12 to come up and unlock my door for me.
 
Thurs: Attended my enrolment briefing in the morning, met my parents after that then took a bus down to Northbridge hoping to find some Chinese food. Ended up having sashimi set at Old Shanghai, a foodcourt. Walked around the area, went over to Hay Street Mall, and did more grocery shopping at Woolsworth. Thurdays are late shopping nights (all shops close at 9) so went back later.
 
Fri: Attended another seminar for international students in the morning. Met Lina, a Malaysian from KL, talked and became friends. Went around to explore the campus with her. Headed back to my flat in the evening for dinner (awful maggi mee) and had a party with my flatmates. Met another 2 of them, Michelle, from Korea who's absolutely hilarious and crazy (are all Michelles like that?) and Blake, another guy from the US. Had some drinks and lotsa fun, then went down to Northbridge at 11 (Perth version of MS) for more. Seriously, the clubs and bars here are SO much better! The music's great and it's not squeezy and cramped like those in Spore so you have lots more breathing space. Reached back home at 2+, had some supper, continued chatting with my flatmates, then turned in at 3.
 
Sat: Met up with Lim San and she brought my parents and me around her UWA campus. Its almost just like a scene out of Harry Potter! Beautiful, serene and picturesque. Later went to look at her room, a typical traditional hostel abode. After that took a bus down to the city for lunch. Had seafood hor fun at one of the eateries along Hay St Mall. Window-shopped around the area (surf brands are not so cheap here after all) and ended up at Woolsworth again. Sat down at McCafe for a hot drink then Lim San went home while my parents and i went to church.
 
Sun: Went to Fremantle in the morning. Beautiful place! Excellent fish & chips and fresh seafood! Gosh, they are simply to die for! Absolutely satisfying. Lunch was great, but dinner wasnt too good. Had instant mac and cheese for dinner (wasnt that appetizing) and was later invited by Travis and Blake to watch Zoolander. 15 mins into the show, a whole gang of American girls turned up at our flat, apparently also invited by the both of them. Felt so damn awkward and uncomfortable but thankfully God saw my plight and sent Lim San to call me. Thank god!!! Managed to excuse myself and escaped into my own room where i could finally relax and be myself. Talked to Lim San on the phone for an hour or so then showered and turned in.
 
Mon: Went to enrol in my course (chose broadcast production instead of independent film production - hopefully i made the right choice), made my student id (my photo looked hideous as usual), then met up with Lina to sign up for our tutorials online at the lab. Wanted to go for lunch at the cafe but it was close (at 2?!?!?!). Ended up having chicken sandwich and hot chocolate instead. Bleah. Later went back to my flat and tried to setup my network connection. After hours of trying, finally managed to get it working with the help of my dad who came to visit. Went out for a last meal with my parents at the Sporean eatery across the street from my place - had chicken rice, claypot tofu and xiao bai cai with oyster sauce. Simply delicious! Finally, bid my parents one last farewell (and no i didnt cry at all) and went home to go online!
 
Tues (today): Woke up at 11.30, took a shower, had breakfast, then went down to do my laundry. Attempted to do some ironing but apparently the blardy travel iron couldnt even generate enough heat to do its job. Tsk. So came online and here i am! Later going out for some orientation city tour at 4.30.
 
So that's what kept me busy the past week. Man, it's still freezing over here, especially the recent mornings and nights. Brrrrrrrrr. Only discovered 2 days ago that the stupid heater in my room was working. GRR. Yeah anyway, im going to make some lunch now i.e. maggi mee. Sigh. I miss myojo. Hope we have a good dinner later tonight.
