Visiting tpjc.net now and then and browsing through the forum postings, i find myself thoroughly amused at how the minds of arts and science students will never function the same way.

For instance, this j1 arts girl was commenting on the movie, The Eye 2, and tried to apply her knowledge of the Gothic by analysing how certain scenes in the movie were typical of the Gothic genre eg. the use of the Female. A couple of postings on, one science guy made a comment on how lit students 'always want to twist things' and indicating that the effects were just 'stereotypical of most stories', while another called it 'ridiculous' by 'getting touchy on the subject on the lead'. This prompted a mild frustration on the part of another arts girl, as evident in the suggestive use of the *rolls eyes* emoticon. Hahaha. Worse still, i laughed my ass off after another two science guys attempted to do a critique on why females are usually the main leads in horror movies...

Science guy A: "I think girls can look scarier that's why."

Science guy B: "Girls can look really horrendous. With make up, they look like ghosts jumped out the pictures. With messed up hair, they look like the pon-di-an-ak(banana spirit or something). At night my sis can really freak me out... Like suddenly coming out of her room when i walking to the toilet."

That's right! So that's why they're (or should i say, we?) Gothic!!! Forget Matthew Lewis and Poe! We should just turn to these guys for realistic enlightenment! We could all get the Angus Ross prize! And Ms Kon would be so pleased, she'd climb up from the well and crawl out of our tv screens to kiss us!

Hahahaha. Pardon me, but i honestly thank them for providing ample humor to spice up my humdrum existence. To those who feel offended, my science counterparts especially, my apologies if i had been to eager to generalise, but hey, let's take life with a pinch of salt shall we?
